"要知道鱼怎么想"

九岁时,我喜欢跟着爸爸去钓鱼。只是有一点很烦:他总能钓到很多,而我经常一根毛也钓不着。郁闷时,我追问他为什么。他的回答总是:“儿子,要钓到鱼,你得像鱼那样想。”当时听了,心里更烦,“我又不是鱼,怎么知道鱼怎么想?“;就算我知道,我的想法对鱼能有什么影响?

几年之后,渐渐明白了爸爸的意思。所以,我开始看钓鱼的书,还加入了我们那儿的钓鱼协会,参加每月一次的活动。我才知道,作为冷血动物,鱼对水温比较敏感,喜欢去水浅的地方,因为那里暖和。还有,阳光直射的水域要比有树荫的地方温度高,但是鱼没有眼帘,阳光直射会伤它们的眼睛……渐渐地,我越来越了解鱼,找鱼钓鱼就容易多了。

长大后,我开始从商。记得我的第一任老板说,“要像一个商人那样思考”。我一直没有搞明白这句话的涵义。我爹当年从没有说过“如果你想钓到鱼,你得像钓鱼人那样思考”,他说的是“你得像鱼那样思考”。几年后,我服务一些年长而富有的人。在长期的、使尽浑身解数服务富豪们的过程中,我渐渐明白了:要站在顾客的角度思考。

When I was nine years old,I love to go fishing with my dad.But the only thing that wasn't very fun about it was that he could catch many fish while I could not catch anything。I usually got pretty upset and kept asking him why. He always answered,"Son, if you want to catch a fish, you have to think like fish。" I remembered being even more upset then because," I am not a fish!". I didn't know how to think like a fish. Besides, I reasoned, how could what I think influence what a fish does?

As I got a little older, I began to understand what my dad really meant. So, I read books on fish. And I even joined the local fishing club and started attending the monthly meetings. I learned that fish is a cold- blood animal and therefore is very sensitive to water temperature. That is why fish prefer shallow water to deep water because the form is warmer. Besides, Water is usually warmer in direct sunlight than in the shade. Yet fish don't have any eyelids and the sun hurt their eyes... the more I understand fish, the more I became effective at finding and catching them.

When I grew up and entered the business world, I remembered hearing my first boss say," We all need to think like salespeople". But it didn't completely make sense. My dad never once said, "If you want to catch a fish, you need to think like fisherman. " What he said was, " You need to think like a fish." Years later, with great efforts to promote long-term services to people much older and richer than me, I gradually learned what we all need is to think more like customers.
